Papi Peach is a papillilaminum line velvet, all pillowy substance, pale veining and warm peach in the new growth. DPN is KN Nursery's Dark Phoenix selection, and Dark Phoenix itself is papillilaminum crossed with dressleri, the near black velvet line that emerges olive and burgundy before settling into deep, silver veined green. Two papillilaminum heavy velvets on both sides, bred for depth, texture and drama. What makes this one worth the room: it is a clone taken from a high variegated mother, and it has come through with full variegation on its very first leaf, at real size, not a thin edge or a lucky fleck. Healthy, established roots underneath. This is the kind of start that decides how a variegated velvet grows out, and this one could not have started stronger. Variegation is guaranteed on this plant. Pattern, colour and balance will keep shifting leaf to leaf as she matures, so every leaf will be its own. Heavily variegated velvet leans on its green, so she is for experienced growers.
